Riverfront Redevelopment Underway

One of the greatest assets of Nashville is the Cumberland River that flows right by Downtown. One of the most underutilized assets of Nashville is the Cumberland River that flows right by Downtown.

For the last few years, planning has been in full swing to redevelop this area. Using other secondary cities such as Chattanooga as models and inspiration, Metro settled on a redevelopment plan that included multiple phases to take place over the next 20 years.

At long last, construction will finally begin next month (only a few days away!). A waterfront park will go in place of a parking lot on the east bank of the river.
